Obituary
Duane F. "Mac" McGregor, 80, of Algona, died Friday, January 29, 2021, in McAllen, TX. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 10:00 AM at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Social distancing practice will be followed and masks are required. The funeral service will be live streamed on St. Cecelia's YouTube page www.youtube.com/user/stceceliaalgona. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in Mac's memory.
Duane Francis "Mac" McGregor was born March 3, 1940, on the family farm northwest of Bancroft, son of Francis and Leona (Lampe) McGregor. He started working right out of high school. He and his first wife Betty had six children together.
Mac married Marian Braun on May 27, 1977, in Algona and they had one son together. Mac worked at AFECO, where he retired from after many years of service. He enjoyed talking and spending time with his family and friends and he was a true sportsman and gun enthusiast. Mac also enjoyed camping and wintering in Texas.

He will be missed by his loving wife Marian of Algona; his children, Duane E. "Yogi" (Karen) McGregor of Algona, Robert (Anesa) McGregor of Ayrshire, Susan McGregor of Algona, Thomas (Angela) McGregor of Fort Dodge, and Michael (Melinda) McGregor of Rockford; a daughter-in-law, Karen J. McGregor of Lu Verne; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Donna Jean in infancy; a son, John McGregor; a grandson, Nathan Nock; and a brother, Robert McGregor.
