Robert Joseph "Bob" Jorgensen was born February 9, 1956, in Estherville, IA, son of Milton "Milt" and Patricia (McDonald) Jorgensen. He grew up on the family farm and attended Swea City High School, graduating in 1974. Following graduation, he moved to Kentucky to pursue his dream of being a horse trainer. He eventually came back to Iowa where he attended Rochester Community college where he earned an Associates Arts Degree.
Saddlebreds were always his first passion, but his training position took him to Kentucky in the Arabian horse business during the early eighties. For the next several years he trained at some of the most prestigious Arabian farms in the country. He showed Arabians to Regional and National recognition. During this time, he established himself as an instructor of champion equestrian riders. His career in the Arabian field was strongly influenced by Jim Taassas, Dick Kiesner, and Tim Shea. He then was approached by Dr. Fernado Jara and his wife Francine to head the training program for the Arabian and National Show Horses that were being bred on their farm. They sold many horses into some of the best show strings in the country. He traveled the United States showing and training horses.
Bob eventually moved back to Minnesota where he opened his own training facility "Bob Jorgensen Training" where he trained, bred, and sold horses. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, and being outside. Bob loved being around his horses.
