Maxine Faye Angus was born on December 9, 1935, to the late William and Beula (Taylor) Batt. She graduated from Burt High School.
Maxine was united in marriage to Robert Angus on August 29, 1953, at Burt Methodist Church. They farmed in the Burt area west of town for over 25 years. Maxine worked outside the home at Exceptional Opportunity and Titonka Care Center. She was also a cook at Presbyterian Church camp several summers. Max loved to bake and she made all of her kids' wedding cakes.
Maxine moved to town after Bob's death in 1986. In 2017, Max moved to Council Bluffs, IA to be closer to family. The Rose, an assisted living facility, was to be her new home. Maxine made many new friends there and shared her love of baking with the residents.
Maxine, 84, of Council Bluffs, IA, entered her eternal home with family around her on November 14, 2020.
She is survived by her children, Sue (Dave) Monson of Council Bluffs, Tom (Julie) Angus of Dallas Center, Sheila (Dennis) Bird of Burlington, NC, Tim (Meladee) Angus of Ames, and Shari (Michael) Weber of Platte City, MO. Maxine is also survived by grandchildren, Hollie (Carl) Clark, Elizabeth (Duane) Heaberlin, Pete (Kim) Angus, Sarah (Seth) Berkshire, Emily Angus, Keith (Sentrell) Bird, Caleb Weber, Steven (Shannon) Monson, Elizabeth Weber, Cory Monson, Josiah Weber and Kevin Weber; eight great-grand-children and one on the way; brother, Harold (Mike) Batt and sisters-in-law, Emogene Batt, Haruyo Batt, and Georgia Christenson; as well as many other extended family members and friends.
