On January 13, 1962 he was united in marriage to Marie Gigler at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Titonka. They shared 58 wonderful years together.
Following the Army, Arnold worked at the Implement Shop in Algona and Wesley and also worked at Hamilton Enterprises in Wesley. He then worked for and alongside Wayne Clegg, Spray Seal Algona for the past 40 years. He helped with roofing, spray insulation, asbestos removal, and construction.
Arnold enjoyed gardening, fishing, trips to Canada, and woodworking. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a lifetime member of Good Hope Lutheran Church where he served on the church council.
Arnold died Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. He was 79.
Arnold is survived by his wife, Marie Schutter of Titonka; children, Ricky (Debra) Schutter of Algona; their children, Amanda Schutter, Jason Schutter, and Emily (Cameron ) Draheim; Dwane (Dawn) Schutter of Titonka; their children, Kristen (fiancé Johnathan Hinz) Schutter, Tiffani Schutter, Jacob Schutter; Denise (Michael) Ricklefs of Webster City; their children, Kaitlin Ricklefs and Kassandra Ricklefs; Scott (Teresa) Schutter of Fort Walton Beach, FL; their children, Steven (Beatrice) Schutter, Adam Schutter, Sylvia Schutter; and Cindy (Andy) Stanberg of Thor; their children, Samuel Stanberg and Zachary Stanberg; sister, Florence Bunker; brother-in-law, David Buffington; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonno and Ellien; sister, Ardith Buffington, and brother, Herman (Harriett) Schutter.
