A Celebration of Life for Kim will be held Saturday, February 29th, 2020, from 2 to 5 PM at Road Runner's Bar and Grill in Lakota.
Kimberly Marie (Ogren) McConnell, 60, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2020, after a short battle with cancer with her husband as care giver at her side. Kim was born in Blue Earth, MN to Robert and Beth (Hum) Ogren on May 7, 1959. Kim graduated from Lakota Consolidated School in 1977. She went on to NIACC for general studies.
In 1999, Kim met the love of her life (Scott McConnell) through YAHOO Personals. They went on to be married in Zimmerman, MN on their homestead on June 30th, 2002. They resided there until 2009, when they moved to Rogers, MN. Kim worked over the years in debt collection. Her most recent employment was accounts payable at CarHop.
Kim enjoyed life in general, from going to craft shows and scrap booking, and the many trips with Scott. Kim enjoyed hanging out with her many friends, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Kim was known to her friends in Lakota as "BIG O"
Kim is survived by her husband Scott of 18 years of Rogers, MN;. two siblings, Roberta (Larry) Hagedorn and their children Paul and Melanie of Lakota, IA, and Patricia (Mike) Christ and their children Tara, Michael, and Jared of Buffalo Center, IA; and many great nieces and nephews. Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Beth Ogren.
How sad I was to learn of Kim’s health struggles and passing. Kim was one of a kind: I will cherish that sweet grin and twinkle in her eye, that “gotcha” look when she knew she had made just the right joke or comment. Kim has now joined Sandy and Perry, all leaving our class too soon. We are much less without Kim. With fond memories and heartfelt sympathy, Karla Larson
Ever since the long distance "Hello". It was not by chance, I knew someone had a hand it. We were meant to to find each other.
I have always loved you more.
You had me from "Hello"
My condolences to Scott and her family. May she rest in peace now.
I have worked with Kim over the past few years at Carhop and will miss her dearly. She was a great co-worker and friend. May you rest in peace my friend.
