Following high school, Jerry married her childhood sweetheart, Joseph E. Crossley on April 3, 1955 at the First Baptist Church in Renwick, where she was a member. Together they were blessed with three children.
Jerry worked numerous jobs in the community, but her main job was working alongside her husband on the farm with raising their children. The last years of her life were spent traveling between Texas, their lake home in Minnesota, and back to Iowa to be with her family. She died on May 5, 2019.
