Audrey Marie Burnett was born on February 26, 1938, in Artesia, California to Harvey B. and Winifred (Potvine). She was schooled in California and married Bernard Burnett on April 1, 1956, in California. The couple lived in California and Hawaii before moving to Swea City, Iowa in 1973. While living in Swea City Audrey worked at Swea City Processing. Audrey moved to Algona in 1987, where she worked at Super 8 Motel.

Audrey became a resident of the Good Samaritan Communities in Algona on April 20, 2006, and died there on Thursday, May 4, 2006, at the age of 68. Audrey enjoyed flowers, watching TV and having coffee with friends.

Survivors include her children, Bernie Burnett, Jr. of Algona, Janet Johnson of Spring Valley, Wisconsin and James Burnett of Garner, Iowa. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Clarissa Johnson and fiance Cody Kramer of Good Thunder, Minnesota, Kimberly Johnson of Armstrong, Iowa, and Tiffany Johnson and her father Dennis of Swea City, Iowa, and two great grandchildren Shaylee and Evan as well as brothers Harvey and wife Kathy Walker of San Diego, California, Delbert Walker of Oregon and step-brother Duane of Washington. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Debbie in 1991, brother Donald, sisters Yvonnie and Vivian and step-father Jerry.
